Tower placement basics that fix most of your losses
After enough tower defence games you start seeing the same mistakes, and nearly all of them happen in the first thirty seconds of a map. Where those opening towers go decides everything.
The rule I keep coming back to: cover the longest exposure, not the entrance. A tower that can hit enemies across a long straight stretch does far more work than one crammed at the spawn point where enemies are only in range for a second.
Corners are gold. Enemies slow their effective travel through a bend, so anything placed to hit a corner gets more shots per enemy. Lanternfall Keep basically teaches this to you level by level, and it made me better at every other tower game.
Save some budget for the first two waves. New players spend everything immediately and then can't react when a tougher enemy type shows up. Leaving a little back gives you room to answer a surprise.
None of this is fancy, but it turns a lot of frustrating losses into comfortable clears.
